In today’s society, more and more people like to travel by car in their leisure time, relax and enjoy the scenery of nature. However, the biggest problem with driving trips is the lack of electricity. For this purpose, BOFU designed and manufactured a dual axis solar tracker for vehicle roof.
The solar tracker for vehicle roof was mounted on vehicle roof, it equipped with slewing drive and linear actuator, which can bring the solar panels rotate horizontally and pitch moving by the axis, tracking the sun automatically in real time to make the sunlight perpendicular to the solar panel as much as possible, to achieve the maximum light intensity and improve the efficiency of power generation.
The bracket tracking the sun with light sensors, which will detect the light intensity of different area of the solar panels, and find the right angle to receive the most light, so to improve the generation rate.
The main parts of bracket was made from aluminum profile, which is strong enough to firmly hold the big solar panels of 2384*1303*35mm, and also light weight, fit to mount on the vehicle roof.
The linear actuator brings the panels do up and down moving, the pitch angle is 0° to 60°, the maximum pushing thrust is 3000N,
guarantee the solar tracker works well even in windy weather.
The solar tracker was designed only 215mm height, to reduce the wind force when driving the car, so to reduce the energy lost and guarantee safety of the system.
